Swans and Swanage

A trio of cygnets ride the waters of the River Test at Totton as a locomotive which has a "Wild Swan" as it sibling, no 60009 "Union of South Africa" ("Wild Swan" was no 60021) passes over the causeway before being seen later at Rockley Sands as the Purbecks loom in the background. At Swanage the arrival of the A4 on 13th September led to some complicated shunting of the stock of the service trains; BR Standard class 4 tank no 80104 runs past the incomer as it leaves its train outside the station so a class 33 could shunt it into the bay platform. Diesel lovers then got the opportunity to see two Cromptons together (we don't - this is a steam site!)
