He then flourished as an author of best-selling books such as ‘The Great Western Eight Coupled Heavy Freight Locomotives’ and the autobiographical ‘A privileged journey’ as well as several fiction books. As well as writing he dedicates his time to his charity, ’The railway children’, raising money and offering support for street children who need help not just in the UK but all over the world.
