In the last part of our interview with railway author Julian Holland, he reads an extract from a diary he wrote in 1963, whilst on a family holiday to Lyme Regis.
Julian Holland has had a passion for railways since he was very young - he still has all of his trainspotting notebooks dating from the early 1960s! After 35 years following a creative career in publishing he started to write about his love of railways. He has contributed to many bestselling railway books over the years as well as penning some of his own, including 'The Lost Joy of Railways' and 'Dr Beeching's Axe 50 Years On: Memories of Britain's Lost Railways'.
