Two Mayflowers in Southampton

Southampton's leading centre for the arts, its famed Mayflower Theatre, is situated a stone's throw away from Southampton Central station. On Thursday 15th August 2019 there were thus two Mayflowers within spitting distance of one another around midday as that day's Steam Dreams excursion paused at the station for a quarter of an hour or so en route to Weymouth. Unusually, it had come (and would return) via Guildford, so our first glimpse of it is at Woolston, through whose reverse curves the train ran on the outward journey, it reversing in the evening at Easleigh and running to Fareham via Botley.
