Although this clip features a diesel (!!!!) it is actually an important part of the story of this year's summer steam as the diesel had been sent down to the West Somerset Railway (where we see it arriving) to take over the return working of "The West Somerset Steam Express" on Saturday 27th July 2019. The down working headed by no. 6233 "Duchess of Sutherland" had been accused of setting fire to the lineside and, as a result, a property near Somerton. Thus a "steam ban" was imposed immediately and the train, an hour and a half late, returned behind no.47802 which is seen at Taunton as it rejoined the Great Western line back to Paddington, reached just 15 minutes late. All other main line steam runs on this day - there were 6 of them - had no problems as rain fell elsewhere.
