Saturday 18th May 2019 was something of a red-letter day for British Steam as no fewer than five steam locomotives were in action on the network. One of these was on the Mallaig line which has seen the commencement of the regular "Jacobite" services so here we concentrate on the four which worked one-off trains. The first two make a remarkable double - nos. 70000 "Britannia" and 45690 "Leander" at Low Fell 15 minutes apart on 12 and 11 coach trains devoid of diesels! Then "Britannia's" train is seen on the Cumbrian Coast at Parton behind "Black 5" no 45321 which has regained its "The Sherwood Forester" nameplates. Finally we go to Worcester at Norton Junction where no.7029 "Clun Castle" comes off the Cotswold main line from Oxford just after passing the brand-new interchange station at Worcester Parkway.
