The Gartell Light Railway was opened in 1991 and runs along part of the old Somerset & Dorset Joint Railway's trackbed just south of Templecome (and thus on the original Dorset Central Railways part of the S&D). It is owned by the Gartell family whose farm machinery business forms the base of the railway. Each year it opens on one weekend in each month during the summer and autumn and the last such in 2019 was on Sunday 27th October. The highlight of the day (which happens on numerous occasions each open day!) is the simultaneous departure of the Railway's two steam locomotives (no 6 Mr G and no 6 Jean) from Pineway Junction, as seen here.
