The number of series of steam hauled excursions in Scotland this year has been added to with a programme of trains from Edinburgh to Aberdeen. These were made possible by the restoration of the turntable at Ferryhill last year. One West Coast train ran behind no. 9 on 5th May but the full programme, run by the A1 Steam Locomotive Trust, sees their engine no. 60163 "Tornado" heading four trains during August and September. The first ran on 1st August (the others, to come, will be on 8th and 31st August and 7th September) and we see "Tornado" passing through Larbert station on the outward run and then, as the light fades, crossing the great Forth Bridge with two other (irrelevant!) bridges in the background on a superb summer's evening.
